60th Birthday

The Sweet Stop sketch this week had a 'spin' - inspiration from a book or movie, I hmmm'd and haaa'd about it all week, before just deciding to grab the first thing that came to hand: Gone Fishin'

My inspiration pretty much just came from the title, but hey, that still counts right?

I used papers from the new leaf paper pack matted on brown on this card and an image from pollycraft coloured with promarkers: pear green, marsh green, olive green, cocoa, chestnut, henna, sandstone, caramel, warm grey 2, cool grey 3, cool grey 4, blush and slate.

The sentiment is from Flonz, the 60 is stickers and I added a couple of fish embellishments from make and create a few pearls and faux stitching around all the different bits.

Happy Halloween

I really do not have any remotely halloween-y papers - but never one to let that stop me, I had a dig through my papers and pulled out these from papermania's hampstead collections, the colours were right, green, black, orange - all that I was missing was the purple, so I used purple card to matt it!

The image is from pollycraft and I coloured her with promarkers: slate, honeycomb, spice, amthyst, mustard, almond, blush, soft peach. Stamped the sentiment from stampin' up and finished with some gems.

"Less is More" #89 - One Layer w/Wings

When I saw the "Less is More" challenge this week my first thought was 'dang, one layer' - I swear, I live in fear of the one layer challenges, lol! - but a quick glance through my stamps and I rediscovered this one, from a christmas stamp set I got last year, it was a magazine freebie and I can't remember exactly where it's from, but I thought it would do quite nicely!

I scored out a rectangle with my score bored, stamped the image inside and coloured with my promarkers: ruby, caramel and cocoa and a gold pen for the crowns. I swithered a while over adding anything else and in the end gave in and added some gems (I can't help myself, everything should have gems!)

Autumn Birthday

With all the autumn challenges lately, I've been struck by the fact I have no really autumn-y paper... at least, that was true until I spent 20 minutes sifting through my paper drawers and found some from paper craft inspirations issue 91 that I didn't even remember having, lol! I used that, along with an image from Angel's Landing, coloured with promarkers: sandstone, caramel, honeycomb, spice, terracotta, pear green, marsh green, henna, cocoa and cool grey 4. I finished it very simply with some gems and a sentiment from Flonz.

I'm submitting this for:

"Less is More" #88 - Silver

An extremely quick, clean and simple card for this weeks Less is More. The challenge is to use silver, so I decided to make use of some of the outline stickers I have but rarely ever use anymore. I'm not sure where these ones are from (I've long since forgotten!) but they are silver outlines, with a glittery middle and rather pretty. All I did was line them up in the center and stick them on. I didn't add any other embellishments, because I didn't feel anything suited.
